Nordstrom’s will be closing early this Tuesday at 4:30PM for a very special event. Nordstrom’s has cooperated with Edison Township for years on the challenge of maintaining the gravel township roads around the growing business. We have worked with many people to bring a dream to reality with a paved township road into our business. The owners and 75 plus employees invite you out to witness a very special “drive out” and photo opportunity to welcome the new “Nordstrom Drive”. After a team photo and a few other photos with family and local dignitaries, the staff will be performing their own parade of company and employee vehicles taking a symbolic “drive out” on the new road. The parade will be led by founder Art Nordstrom driving the “Nordstrom’s Special”. This is the classic V8 Hot Rod Ford tractor that was part of the landscape at Huset’s Speedway racing events for decades. The tractor has not been out in public since Art’s induction into the Huset’s Hall of fame. This event will be brief and we would be so excited if you could join us for the ribbon smashing as Nordstrom’s shows how we are “Going the Extra Mile For you” The owners and others will be on hand to answer questions about the road and tell you the connections with Edison Township, the Governor’s office of Economic Development and Lincoln and Minnehaha Economic Development and explain how future expansion at Nordstrom’s is part of the equation.
